The Meta What?
What’s the first thing you think when you hear the world Metaverse? Yeah, I don’t understand it either. That’s because none of us do.
This year will bring an explosion of the digital cyber world, parallel to the real world. It has its own economic system, laws, regulations and more.
Let’s start from the beginning, The Metaverse is a term that comes from the seminal science-fiction book Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson. It refers to an online shared space that combines real-world and virtual reality in a single universe.
So what is the future of the Metaverse? Will it evolve to become a whole new part of our lives? Or will it simply just be another phase in human history? What will it look like, who will rule this new cyber world? It is hard to tell. This is not about a new technology or system throwing us into the future and leaving us all behind. It will be something tailored to our needs and wants, accessible from anywhere with any device.
My guess, as the optimist I am, is that the Metaverse will allow advances in human-computer interaction. This new dimension might become the greatest marketplace ever imagined, the fastest internet access available, and the most secure way to share information.
Who knows, in the near future, your digital life might be more important and meaningful than your physical reality… While I still don’t fully understand what that looks like, I do know that digital currency, which is currently exploding all over the world, is the key to the potential for everything to change.
